Terms & Conditions are a set of rules to help protect you as a customer, and me as a business. It’s basically a set of guidelines ensuring everyone is treated along the same set of rules. If you have any questions relating to these terms and conditions, contact me here.

General Terms & Conditions
(1) Introduction

By browsing and using this website or Cara-Lou Paper Cuts on Facebook or other platforms you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy, govern CARA-LOU PAPER CUT’s relationship with you in relation to this website. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, you must not use this website.

(2) Definition of Terms

The Buyer: – The person with whom the contract is made.
The goods: – The goods purchased by the buyer, sold and distributed by Cara-Lou Paper Cuts.

(3) Limitations and Exclusions of Liability

Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable. It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services or information available through this website meet your specific requirements.

(4) Licence to Use Website

This website contains material which is owned by Cara-Lou Paper Cuts. This material includes, but is not limited to, content and product design, layout, look, appearance and graphics. Any redistribution or reproduction of part or all, of this material in any form, is prohibited other than in accordance with the following:

From time to time, this website may also include links to other websites. These links are provided for your convenience to provide further information. They do not signify that we endorse the website(s). We have no responsibility for the content of the linked website(s).

External Merchandise Providers will be deemed as purchasing fromtheir shop, any goods that are faulty or damaged should be returned to the external provider and not Cara-Lou Paper Cuts.

(6) Products and Photography

Photographs are taken to attempt to reproduce an accurate representation of the colours and products. Photo colour reproduction on screen may be slightly different in reality. Some images may be digital productions to allow for better photography, these designs will be the same as the designs sold.
All photographs and designs remain the property of Cara-Lou Paper Cuts. Except where customer photographs are used. Customer photographs will only be added after permissions are granted. No prints or reproductions of any Cara-Lou Paper Cuts work are allowed. Elements of any design, including commissions, may be incorporated within future works.

(7) Pricing

All prices are clearly marked on the individual listings, posting costs are displayed before checkout.
Please note that completion of the online checkout process does not constitute our acceptance of your order. Our acceptance of your order will take place only when we dispatch the product(s) that you ordered from us.
Cara-Lou Paper Cuts reserves the right to cancel your order at any time without notice and without expressing a reason.

(8) Dispatch

We aim to post all orders within 48 business hours. Except for pre-orders, special requests, personalised orders which includes commission pieces or orders with changes, for example, frame colour changes at the buyers’ request.
We post most of our parcels with Royal Mail, should a parcel arrive damaged, please notify us within 48 hours, and forward photographic evidence to emma@caraloucuts.co.uk. All parcels are sent by 2nd Class Signed for as standard, except the value of £51+ these are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery for their insurance purposes. This cannot be altered.

(9) International Shipping

caraloucuts.co.uk accepts no responsibility for Customs Fees and Taxes incurred when purchasing goods. It is the Buyers responsibility to check goods are not forbidden from entering the country of delivery. International shipping times are exclusive of customs handling.

(10) Right to Cancel

You have up to 14 days after your order is delivered to cancel at any time without reason. Personalised/custom orders and digital downloads are exempt from the right to cancel.

(11) Faulty Goods

We make every effort to ensure the safe arrival of goods. Should a fault arise or be identified, the buyer should contact Cara-Lou Paper Cuts within 14 days of purchase, to make a claim based on any defect in the quality, or condition of the goods. Cara-Lou Paper Cuts shall be notified in writing by the buyer, on the discovery of the defect, in return, we will aim to respond to the claim within 48 hours
In the case of faulty goods, the goods need to be returned to Cara-Lou Paper Cuts. Once the item has been returned, the buyer will be issued a full replacement. The buyer should contact Cara-Lou Paper Cuts before returning any items.
Cara-Lou Paper Cuts shall be under no liability in respect of any defect arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, external force, damage caused by the buyer or any other party, or damage caused by the incorrect installation, use, modification, storage or repair of the goods.

(12) Commission Orders

If the order is for a commissioned item, we will not be able to offer a refund. Cara-Lou Paper Cuts are not held responsible if the buyer makes an error in the personalisation. All Pre-Order information is checked and double checked by you, the buyer. It is solely your responsibility to check all the details are correct on the proofs.
If the error is caused by Cara-Lou Paper Cuts a full replacement will be issued on receipt of the defect at the full cost to Cara-Lou Paper Cuts, including a refund of your return shipping.

(13) Errors, Inaccuracies and Omissions

Occasionally there may be information on our site that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to:

  • product descriptions
  • pricing
  • promotions
  • offers
  • product shipping charges
  • dispatch times
  • availability

We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to change or update information, and cancel orders if any information is inaccurate, at any time, without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).

(15) Papercut Care

Papercuts, should not be placed in direct sunlight or above a heat source. If a papercut should slip within its mounting, please contact Cara-Lou Paper Cuts for help and advice. We will rectify any faults at our own cost, providing the product has not be tampered with in any way.
The Length of time is determined on the care card received with your order. In the event of a lost or damaged care card the date of order will be used to determin.

(16) Personal Information

Your submission of personal information through the store is governed by our Privacy Policy.

(17) Free Postage

An offer that may include free postage with the purchase, will only be posted free within the UK and BFPO. Other territories will have to pay the relevant postal costs for these items.

(18) User Comments, Feedback and Other Suggestion

If, at our request, you send submissions (for example contest entries) or without a request from us you send:

  • creative ideas
  • suggestions
  • proposals
  • plans
  • or other materials

whether online, by email, by postal mail, or otherwise (collectively, ‘comments’), you agree that we may, at any time, without restriction, edit, copy, publish, distribute, translate and otherwise use in any medium any comments that you forward to us. We are and shall be under no obligation (1) to maintain any comments in confidence; (2) to pay compensation for any comments; or (3) to respond to any comments.

We may, but have no obligation to, monitor, edit or remove content that we determine in our sole discretion are unlawful, offensive, threatening, libellous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party’s intellectual property or these Terms and Conditions.

You agree that your comments will not violate any right of any third-party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, personality or other personal or proprietary right. You further agree that your comments will not contain libellous or otherwise unlawful, abusive or obscene material, or contain any computer virus or other malware that could in any way affect the operation of the Service or any related website.

You may not use a false e-mail address, pretend to be someone other than yourself, or otherwise mislead us or third-parties as to the origin of any comments. You are solely responsible for any comments you make and their accuracy. We take no responsibility and assume no liability for any comments posted by you or any third-party.

(19) Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability

We do not guarantee, represent or warrant that your use of our service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

You agree that from time to time we may remove the service for indefinite periods of time or cancel the service at any time, without notice to you. If the service is cancelled indefinitely all warranties will be void.

(20) Sale of knives to persons under 18 years of age

Section 141A of the Criminal Justice Act 1998 makes it an offence to sell or let on hire to any person under 18 years:

  • Any knife, knife blade or razor blade
  • Any axe
  • Any sword
  • any other article which has a blade or which is sharply pointed and which is made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person.

Any products within Cara-Lou Paper Cuts that fall into any of the above descriptions are only for purchase and use by customers over the age of 18. When placing an order, you are agreeing to the Cara-Lou Paper Cuts terms and conditions, and agree that you are over the age of 18.
Cara-Lou Paper Cuts will carry out additional checks and reserve the right to refuse the sale. If Cara-Lou Paper Cuts are unable to confirm the age of the customer via electoral roll checks, then contact will be made using the email provided during the checkout to ask for proof via other means. If the customer does not reply or respond to these requests after a period of 7 days –  we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund the customer in full.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms and Conditions by posting updates and changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to our website or the Service following the posting of any changes to these Terms and Conditions constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Deposit Terms & Conditions
NB: Your Order and Order Schedule will commence only once Clear Payment is received. 
Please see the General Terms & Conditions for more information

Deposit Terms:

  1. Your order WILL NOT be started until the total balance of your order is paid.
  2. ALL payments are to be made through PayPal Goods and Services or Bank Transfer.
  3. Paying a Deposit will secure you a place in the diary or secure the one-off item.
  4. Your first payment will be 25% of the order total, all payments thereafter will not be less than £10.
  5. Cara-Lou Paper Cuts reserves the right to cancel your order and refund if the time elapsed exceeds 6 months or insufficient communication occurs. (if you wish to pay over longer than 6 months you need to keep communication going.
  6. Your order will need to be paid in full 4 weeks prior to when you require it in your possession, this allows time to process, design, create and ship your order.
    (This time may change to demand, e.g. if the order books are full. If this occurs a courtesy email will be sent using your account email address (be sure to add us to your approved sender’s list)
  7. Cancellations can be granted on receipt of an email confirming
    1. Your Order Number
    2. Your Date of Order
    3. Your Payment Email
  8. Refunds will only be issued to the payment account used for the deposits. Refunds will:
    1. Be issued in full within 30 days.
    2. If the order is cancelled after last payment has been received, Cara-Lou Paper Cuts reserves the right to keep 15% of the order total due to loss of income regarding the slot in the diary
